Nikola Karasová is a PhD student in Modern history at the Department of Russian and East European Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University in Prague and a research assistant within the ERC Project "Unlikely Refuge? Refugees and citizens in East-Central Europe in the 20th century" at the Masaryk Institute at the Czech Academy of Sciences. She holds a degree in area studies and political science. During her studies she has been concentrating mostly on issues connected to authoritarian rule, political extremism and populism with a special emphasis on the modern history and politics of Greece. Currently, her research focus includes the history and politics of post-conflict societies, namely the political situation in Greece after the Greek civil war.
